Paying for Software

Am i the only SPV gamer who cannot buy commercial software as a result of only owning a debit card and not a credit card? This is soooo annoying!! I missed out on Intersteller Flmes for a pound when i first got my phone, (early this year) because of this. Why do Handango not accept debit cards?? Its not fair, if anyone from Orange, Hexacto or ultimately Handango reads this then please think about the extra business you would get from expanding your payment options! ;)

I guess they figure that seeing as you have to be 18 to take out a contract you are also old enough to take out a credit card too.

Obviously you might not want to have a credit card, but thats the way of the world unfortunatly :/

Have you got one of those funny 'switch' things? Get a proper bank ;)

Visa Delta works almost everywhere on the net. Its the switch/solo cards that are the problem. A very limited number of sites do accept then though.

I do have a switch which is accepted in every shop in the highstreet!! I'm a student and am avoiding a credit card otherwise I would have even more debt, believe me! Just a shame that they don't accept switch like most other large online shops!

Correction: a very limited number of sites outside of the UK do accept them.

I've been using Switch and Solo on internet orders for a few years now and i've never had any problems with UK based online shops not accepting them. It's only when you go outside of the UK it gets difficult (my justification for getting a CC ;))

Most credit cards also guarantee your purchase. Well worth having one. Just don't over use it!
