Guest honmunho Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Hi to all, I gotten my SPV ;) via eBay last week so I am relatively junior in my SPV experience & knowledge. The phone was unlocked & after one night, i managed to uncertified it & have installed a preferred homepage & setup a few ringtone & alerts. For the last few days I have to trying to settle up the WAP & GPRS but after a few calls to the Telco & trying possibly all known advice fm the web, I am still unable to get it going. One thing is is that I live in Singapore. Could anyone help me on this aspect, without GPRS/WAP, I am not using the phone to its full capability. If at least let me know what are the setting needed, I put it the relevant info from the Telco. Another thing is that I really enjoy using avantgo but know that avantgo will not work very well with SPV, any suggestion or help this area? Thanks
Guest martin Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Who is your network provider ? Do you have a list of the GPRS data settings that the network gave you ?

Guest honmunho Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Gosh ;) :) :D You are really good. Let me not get carried away with my joy but a big thank you to you first. You are certainly 100000000 times better/knowledgable than M1 customer service staffs that I spoken to. I have tested the connection with those favorite on the SPV & it works but the http://wapsvr.m1.com.sg:8000 returned with a page not found. Could this be due to the fact that the page may not be configure for SPV? the other thing is that my yahoo email is not responding with the email. what should i check? Ha. Thanks a again
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Welcome to the site ;) I do not believe you will be able to access yahoo email, have a look here for more information.
Guest martin Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 I don't think the M1 network has an outgoing mail server either ;) The address http://wapsvr.m1.com.sg:8000 was given by the M1 network for wap homepage but it doesn't work. Typical. 'Internet connection' should give access to HTML pages. 'WAP connection' should give access to WML pages. When you are connected to the Internet, goto menu-properties and look at Type. Make sure you can access both HTML and WML pages.
