Which Order To Unlock My SPV (Sim or Decertify First)

Hello all,

I have just received my SPV and I would like to use it on another Network. I have read all the posts about the proceedure but have one more question.

Should I decertify the phone before or after I remove the sim-lock?

Will it make any difference, and most importantly, will Orange send the decertification (if there is such a word) message to a non-Orange mobile number?

Out of preferance I would decert first, if you have any doubts about

decerting over the air you could always use Will's decert app V2 (the one I use)

found in the Articles section.

since simlock stays, even after a hard reset, whereas de-cert has to be re-done, I would have thought it would make more sense to desim first, but I think it's very unlikely that it'd make a difference.
