Guest mattbrown Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 browsing through my fones dir's and came across a startup folder ipsmwindowsstartup i know what the smartface one is for but interested in the other shortcutsImage2.jpg
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 I was thinking that myself last nite when I deleted smartface from my startup folder...
Guest Vector Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 I don't have a clue what they are
Guest bdmoore Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 I think MMSSvc, SmsClassZero and Usbcnect are used by the OS for MMS, SMS and ActiveSync respectively? Therefore I presume that AddContact will be for what it says, coldinit is some sort of OS startup routine? Not too sure what eloff and EzPushRouterRegister do though... I could be wrong of course but it seems quite logical as they're on all SPVs ;)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 The pushrouter i ~think~ is to do with Orange being able to "push" files and settings to your phone (think OTA decert). The more paranoid people removed shortcuts like that after the unofficial method was discovered. I've never touched them though and never had any probs ;)
Guest madu Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Why the hell is there AddContact though?? And as far as I understand ColdInit is only performed once - during first startup after reset, innit? But as it seems from other posts, people have removed all of them and the phone worked totally fine. But there was apparently no improvement in speed or anything like that.. Not significant anyway. Have a search for 'StartUp' in topic names to see prev. topics re this..
