Guest TooMuch2AM Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 "Hello from Orange. Bring your SPV to your local Orange shop for a free software update for improved performance and new Microsoft applications" I have the first UK update installed, did I miss something? Or is the 1.5 update out? M
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Probably a delayed notification about the UK update. I never got one when it was released, did you? Which update are you running?
Guest TooMuch2AM Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Hi Mono, Without looking at the s/w versions, I have the first (downloaded) UK update installed, I don't have the keyboard update installed as I don't have a keyboard and if it ain't broke.... M
Guest abamara Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Just got the same txt 5 mins ago! Weird! ROM Update version 1.3.5.6
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 In which case i'd guess it's just a notification of the first UK update (1.3.5.6). Did you remove and op the shortcuts in your Startup folder?
Guest sparks1061 Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Hey I got the same message 5 mins ago, nice to know I'm not being left out ;)
Guest Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Got it too, I wonder if they just mean that the O shops can finally do it for you. When it came out, and I found out I couldn't use it on Win98 (until I found the French workaround on here), I phoned the local shop, and they couldn't do it.
Guest superkingdave Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 just got said message. whats the idea?
Guest chocobogo Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 I aint got the message and havent deleted any of the startup items but my brother had a sim update the other day!!
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Some of you may know my phone is now totally w**kered !! It now just sits @ the sunset screen ;) If i took it into the O' shop - could they fix it that way ?? Cheers Space Cowboy
Guest abamara Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 No harm in trying Space Cowboy. Worst case they'll at least look at it.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Or just try rerunning the UK update (from the Canary M/PV screen)
Guest Simon Desser Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Some of you may know my phone is now totally w**kered !! It now just sits @ the sunset screen ;) When mine did that a few months ago, I just did a hard reset and everything was fine again?
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Think ure rite on this one Mono. It's just my luck also not to have insurance on this phone - every other one i've had, has had insurance !! I could always take out O' Care and just happen to drop it down the stairs..... Lol Space Cowboy
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 You've tried running the update again right? If you run it when the phone is at the 'Canary MV' screen it works... P
Guest superkingdave Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 anyone actually been in to an orange shop to confirm this is just the old one?
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 "]You've tried running the update again right? If you run it when the phone is at the 'Canary MV' screen it works... P Actually, no.......Mono told me to do it but HTC are now sending out the packaging for my poor baby lol for its operation -- wil try tonite tho. SpaceCowboy
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 I can confirm it's the old one via a contact in an O shop. P
