Guest drblow Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 After a couple of weeks of trouble free GPRS, I have recently had the 'dialling...' stuck problem again. I always did have it intermittently, but now it's every time I go to connect. Previously, if I had this problem, quitting IE with taskmanager semmed to sort it out, but not anymore! The only changes I have made recently have been installing smartface beta4, and a few reg tweaks to menu order & non standard screen (as per midnights site). I know some people had GPRS problems with the early alpha releases of whocall, but I havent found any complaints about the new smartface beta4. But then I took out my storage card - and GPRS works! I currently have a 64mb card, which has about 50mb used. When I remove the card, GPRS connects fine! Anybody else had this? And is there a solution - should I free up some more space on the card?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Sound like you have a problem with something on the card rather than the card it's self. Only thing to suggest is to try removing tweaks, apps that you have installed one at a time and see if that cures the problem. Failing that a hard reset is the next option. Have you asked Orange if there are any GPRS problems in your area?
Guest madu Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 And have you tried connecting after re-inserting the card to confirm the symptom?/
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Do you have GPRS Traffic Counter installed on your storage card? I had some weirdness when I did the same, never really did get to the bottom of it so I just uninstalled Traffic Counter instead and then the problems "went away"...
Guest drblow Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Mmmm.... Yes, madukranian - I did replace the card to confirm this, and at the time, it did not connect when I reinserted the card, so I thought that was a definate... but now, it does dial up, but gets stuck at connecting... and eventually returns 'page you are looking for cannot be found'. I haven't spoken to O about gprs in the area - I suppose it could be that! Chris b.a.r.f. - I do have traffic counter installed, but on the phone, but the card. If no other explanations are forthcoming, I may try uninstalling that & see wgat happens, it's only a 30 day trial anyway which I think is nearly up. Any other ideas would be appreciated coz I couldn't be bothered uninstalling everything from the card!
