Guest SmugX Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Hi all. Is there any way around this? (It's the sort of thing that could well have been discussed before, but I couldn't find it on search ...) Ok, so I read a text message, ignore the person completely (ok - this step isn't mandatory ), and press 'home' to go back home. A while passes, and I get a new text. The right hand "context" button changes to "Message", but when I click it, I find myself reading the last message that I was reading, not the new message that's just come in. (Early mornings or beer mean that it can take me a while to realise this.) Is there a way to make the "Message" button read the new message? Cheers, Neil.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Don't think so. If you leave a message (in the Inbox) open it will keep that message open no matter how you go to the Inbox... (not sure if that makes sense hehe)
Guest bdmoore Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Hi SmugX, The action of pressing the Message button just takes you to the Inbox/SMS application (in effect just bringing that application to the front of your view). If you have previously looked at a message and not pressed 'back' to return to the message list before pressing 'home' then the active screen of the Inbox app is still the previous message. If you get into the habit of pressing 'back' after reading a message before pressing 'home' then when you next recieve a message and press the Message button the message list will be displayed instead of your previous message. (In short - no you can't change the function of the button but you can get around it! ;) ) Hope all this makes sense!! :)
Guest Richie M Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Nah, SmugX you have to open it yourself ( some people are so lazy ;)) Once you've finished reading or what ever press the Back key and it'll take you back to the InBox, then press Home, so the next time you go into messages you'll be in your Inbox with the new message show in Bold :D Hope thats (more :)) helpfull [edit] damn bdmoore beat me to it  must type faster [/edit]
Guest SmugX Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Thanks for your advice, folks. I guess all we need now is a Nokia-simulator, and all these little annoyances will be ironed out. (Prepares for onslaught) Cheers, SmugX.
