Guest dinoalbert Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Good day. My smartphone's main memory suddenly got full and I havent even installed any games yet. I only have SmartExplorer, Task Manager, Smartface, NotBad, SMS Tool, Free Space, and RegEdit installed in my main memory and is now down to 700+kb left. I already deleted all Inbox and Sent SMS. I also deleted everything inside the IPSMMapi folder. All pictures, movies, music files are stored in my SD card. I only have Xbox in my Theme list (IPSMApp DataHome) and some three ringtones. I checked IPSM folder to delete any unwanted files but cant find any. BUT in the Windows folder, I found these large files which are date modified today : MsgQueueMapFileMicrosoft WDP SMS Protocol MsgQueueMapFileMicrosoft WCMP SMS Protocol MsgQueueMapFileMicrosoft Text SMS Protocol MsgQueueMapFileMicrosoft Status Message SMS Protocol (Receive Only) MsgQueueMapFileMicrosoft Raw SMS Protocol (Receive Only) MsgQueueMapFileMicrosoft Notification SMS Protocol (Receive Only) MsgQueueMapFileMicrosoft Broadcast Message SMS Protocol (Receive Only) MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft WDP SMS Protocol MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Text SMS Protocol MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Raw SMS Protocol (Receive Only) MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Notification SMS Protocol (Receive Only) MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Broadcast Message SMS Protocol (Receive Only) All these are dated (modified) today 4/23/03 and i wonder if you guys also have these in your Windows folder....can I delete these files? Thanks.
Guest bdmoore Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Hi dinoalbert, Everyone's got these files. They're not actually as big as they say - see this post. They are used for SMS by the phone... The Windows folder is recreated from the ROM every time you restart your phone, so any deleted files will re-appear next time you switch the phone off/on again anyway!! Try moving as many of your applications as possible to an SD card if you can. Also make sure you haven't got too much in your inbox and check the size of your ringtones - some of them are quiet large!! Hope this helps ;)
Guest dinoalbert Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 ok thanks a lot...I guess I just have to hard reset my phone ;)
