Hey ppl

Dont know how many of u out there use ur spv as an alarm in the mornin to get up. But what i would like to see is a little app that would let you be able to set the time for different days e.g i have to be up 7.30am every mon-fri but sat and sun i dont have to be up so if u cud set it each seperatley if u know wot i mean.

Also i have just got my ring tone as the alarm which is half a song, it wud be good say u have a load of mp3 on ur memory card then u could pick one of them or set it to random so u dont get bored of the same song every mornin. Also be able to make it a gradual sound so it dunt give u heart failure in the mornin. To me this wud be a great little app, do u think it wud be possible???? what does everyone else think????

Geary, any chance of posting in english? Too much text message talk ;)

I've been asking about an app like this for ages and there was some talk by some of the developers to build something but it's all gone quiet.

I do love my new SPV... but why doesn't it turn itself on when the alarm goes off (like Nokia's do)? I know it's not a Nokia, but wouldn't it make sense?

Hi!

I also wonder that...I was very surprised that it's not possible to set an alarm and have the phone turn itself on and wake you. If the phone is shut off, the phone won't start when the alarm is supposed to wake you up. This feature I think is a must!

I can't have the phone on all night just to have it wake me up...what if you get a message or a phonecall during the night, then you'll for sure wake up no matter what the time is!!!

Is there no solution to this???

Well you could just leave the phone on all night but turn the radio off. That will stop any incoming calls/texts and save some battery..

Thanks...that was a good advice, didn't think about that! :)

...and wouldn't it be nice if we had an Alarm profile that turned Radio Off. then the mode could be easily setable/viewable from home screens with the profile plug-in.

I get around this by having a 'Nightime' profile (think it was the meeting one I amended) where alarm is set to Increasing, Ring type is set to increasing (I need to wake up if someone calls me, could be urgent, oh the joys of management) and notification Volume is set to silent so I don't get bothered by text messages. That Sunnysoft thing looks great too! Think I'll give it a trial...

It would also be good if we could set more then one alarm for each day. I like to have a alarm at 5am to wake me up for work and then one again at 10am for my break at work, one again at 1pm for a break again and then one last one at 5pm for the end of the day.

Am i asking for too much? :?:

Coucou - do you know if this sunnysoft software will work with the alarm/lcd plug in as i am thinking of including the alarm time on my homescreen xml.

I set my profile to silent at night but have smacked up the alarm to LOUD - i have renamed the profile to 'Silent Night' (aahhh) but to be honest i never used to use it when i had a nokia except when i was getting lots of texts from some bird and i didn't want to raise suspicions from my then girlfriend so i might as well put 'silent' to some regular, albeit more boring, use!

Peewee: Having trialed it for a couple of days now I can tell you that you can set five alarms, each alarm can be set to on or off for each day of the week, so you can have your four weekday alarms and one left over for weekends too!

Phooey: I don't have the Alarm plug-in but I suspect not as this doesn't interact with the 'main' alarm (the one in settings).

I can also report for general info that you don't want to have your screensaver on overnight if you're using Sunnysoft. I had it on Aquarium and it took me about five minutes to get the thing to shut up this morning. By which time I was wide awake! Might just be aquarium though with its funny one button turn off, it didn't stop the alarm from actually working, just meant I couldn't see the screen to work the controls. :|

Have you downloaded the trial? Once you have you should find it fairly self-explanatory, but here's a quick overview.

Go to Programs/Alarm, this should bring up your Alarm settings screen on which you can see 5 alarms. Example attached.

To do this when you're in the screen hit the number corresponding to the alarm: i.e. for Alarm 1, hit 1 on your keypad. This will select the red x, you can toggle this to a green tick with the action key. Navigate left or right with your direction keypad and click with the action button to edit fields and toggle the days on or off. There is no reason why you shouldn't have four different alarms all on one day as you requested. You can see that I have Daily on only on weekdays, Church only on Sundays and Busy Saturday only on Saturdays. By clicking on the bell you can choose which sound you want and whether it should repeat. Unfortunately it will only let you choose from a very limited number of sounds and won't let you preview them.

Quick summary:

Good points:

Set alarms for different days at different times so you don't have to remember to turn your alarm off on a friday night after one too many.

Having five different alarms is very useful - you can set a one off alarm without editing your normal alarm. It just gives more flexibility.

Bad Points:

Doesn't override PocketCandy, fiddly if you like having screensavers on and you've got auto-lock on.

Can't assign your own sounds (at least in the trial version).

ps. btw you can download it for trial at Handango, it only comes as part of a suite which also includes a stopwatch/countdown app and a battleships game.

If you want to have a alarm set for different times for different days of the week, why don't you set up reoccurring appointments.

i.e. you could set a appointment for 'Alarm' with a reminder at 07:00 reoccurring every Wednesday etc.
