Guest Paul [MVP] Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 SPV FREE at Orange Retail on ugprades or Talk 200 or above! P
Guest Mark Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 You beat me to it! And i'm posting this from my SPV, love it!
Guest Brody Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 This could be the contributing factor towards persuading my mate to finally get the SPV, (he's skint!). If he got it free on the Talk 200 plan, (£36 a month including GPRS) then culd he downgrade his contract after 4 months as usual? Also just to confirm Orange Retail means the shops in the highstreet and not online yeah?
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Yes he could, and yes, that's the high street shops! ;) P
Guest Brody Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Nice! I might have negotiated you another Modaco Plus member Paul! I can't help but feel a little bit annoyed at the fact that I got my phone three months ago and paid £130 on upgrade ;)
Guest caio1 Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 I live in italy, but I have some friends in uk; I just browsed the orange uk website but couldn't find that offer, could you please explain what do I have to do to pay an spv £36/month for 4month and then downgrade back to another plan? If it's possible I could ask my uk friend to upgrade his profile for 4 month and pay him £36x4=£144 and buy the spv from him at that price! Please let me know and explain the better you can as in Italy we don't have this kind of contracts. Thank you Caio
Guest Brody Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 that's the high street shops! So ur mate'll have to buy it from a real shop and not online!! Hope this helps ;)
Guest Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 "]SPV FREE at Orange Retail on ugprades or Talk 200 or above! P     :!: :!: I jump in and buy and SPV just before the £6 GPRS deal is supposed to end, and think that I have got a bargin at £100! (considering the Carphone Warehouse catalogue still showed it at £179.99 at the time for upgrades). AND NOW IT'S FREE! Life's not fair any more, I'm going away to have a little sulk for a while... P.S. -Also, I can now get a 256 mb SD card with Cruzer for the same price I paid for a 128 mb card a few weeks ago. It it just me or is technology moving just a little bit too fast to keep up with?
Guest caio1 Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Is there any date about when this promo will be stopped? Caio
Guest Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Jurys out on that one! See this thread: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=55066
Guest Gorskar Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Lifes not fair - I learned that a long time ago. If you are still within your 14 days of purchase then I would take it back to the carphone Warehouse, and then get it from orange. Alternatively, you might be able to get your money back, as I believe carphone warehouse are supposed to do some kind of price guarentee.
Guest casper508 Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 P.S. -Also, I can now get a 256 mb SD card with Cruzer for the same price I paid for a 128 mb card a few weeks ago. It it just me or is technology moving just a little bit too fast to keep up with? Technology IS moving too fast. I paid more for a 128 than the current pirce of a 256 few months back. I think i'll wait till sept/oct and then buy a 1Gb one for the same price. Cas

Carphone Warehouse do have various price matching schemes, unfortunatly I bought it from Orange! Oh well! What gadget shall I buy next........
Guest Rob.P Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Technology IS moving too fast. I paid more for a 128 than the current pirce of a 256 few months back.Ditto I think i'll wait till sept/oct and then buy a 1Gb one for the same price. Ditto again ;) *EDIT* Yay! just hit diehard, better stick a white vest on and run around the building shouting yippy, kiyay, motherf**kers, or prehaps not as we have OFTED inspectors around :)
Guest idavid Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 oh, oh, oh! it better last another week (current contract ending (SPVless at the moment)) ;) surely if it is now free it cant be long before the tanager is out. if its free orange must be subsidising it so much! and wouldn't they only do that if they wanted rid of them... :? maybe i should try and be patient... not a chance.... :)
Guest HungrySPV Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Oh well! What gadget shall I buy next........ Panasonic SV-AV30 video camera/mp3/audio/etc. I'm just waiting for it to hit the UK. Also uses SD cards !
Guest vijay555 Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 Can someone tell me what "free upgrade" means, because i just rang orange, i'm on an OVP at £75 per month, been with them for years, and they still say upgrade costs £69. wassup with that? How can i wangle a free or free-ish SPV? Lovin y'all, V
Guest hitenparmar_is Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 hey all! read this post and got kinda excited but went up to my nearest orange shop and they said that they've heard nothing about an SPV being free as an upgrade :? it is at orange shops rite? can some1 tell me if i'm supposed to go somewhere else?...i'm totally up for buying one but kinda skint after buying a 7650 and being unemployed and @ college so aint got too much cash to splash out. cheers for any replies HITS
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 Strange, that's definitely the deal now on Talk 200 or above?!? You sure it was an Orange Retail store? P
Guest vijay555 Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 It's definitely down as "from free" in the Orange shops, but as i said in the other thread, customer services still quoted me £69 for the upgrade. Can anyone tell me, if i take out a new contract on the SPV (ie get it for free) now, and if tanager comes out next month, what's the likely upgrade fee goign to be like, or is it even possible? If if i've had the phone for < 12 months, can i still upgrade? Price isn't really the problem, just more concerened about having orange care on the tanager, but i'm also impatient for a bloody spv. V
Guest hitenparmar_is Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 yeh it was def a orange retail shop. what else are those big shops with orange signs? :? I WANT AN SPV!!! hehehehe...i'm actually on an everyday 50, but the staff didnt even ask what tariff i was on, and straight away told me it was £150 which confused me even more! we've got two orange shops in our lil town centre and the staff in 1 of them are rite know it alls and 2 be honest i hate going in there coz they're so intimidating! has any1 else with an everyday 50 upgraded?
Guest NeilC_MVP Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 http://www.mobiles.co.uk/cgi/refer.cgi?ref...e=handpric.html Order your FREE SPV online....
Guest chocobogo Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 got mine for free on OVP 100 over 6 months ago!! ;)
Guest jmjarvis Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 I called Orange Friday 25th to confirm the handset price with them at £69.99. Walked into my local Orange shop on 26th ready to hand over my £69.99 only to find that it was free. ;) Still, I'm loving it and so are my enveous work collegues.
