Guest caio1 Posted April 26, 2003 Report Posted April 26, 2003 I've just sent a couple of sms with planussms v1.1 from my spv. I've sent 2 trial sms to myself and the 1st arrived the 2nd not yet (after 5min) The one that regularly arrived had the date of april 27th time 2.20, but as I live in Italy and I'm GMT+1 here it's still the 26th... it would be handy if it could be possible to specify the TimeZone of the sender. And please check the time of your server as I don't understand why it says 2.20 when I sent it at 22.42 local time. The suggestion is: I think it would be better if the text of the sms sent is not been automatically cleared by the prog after sending as if I need to send the same sms to another contact I have to rewrite it completely. You're making a great work and your service really rocks as I save about 50% in sending sms!!! Thank you. Caio
Guest ubergeek Posted April 26, 2003 Report Posted April 26, 2003 Glad to hear you're enjoying the service :) The server is in South Africa, and reflects the local time there...but this is something that will have to be checked. We can't change the date/time stamp but we'll see if we can sort something out. You can send the message to multiple recipients by putting their numbers in seperated by commas, Eg: "12345,67890,456456" - without any + but with the country code of course! Our pleasure ;)
Guest ajb3000 Posted April 26, 2003 Report Posted April 26, 2003 multiple recipients will be included in v1.2 of the planus app
Guest caio1 Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 Thank you for the replies, but I think it would be better not clearing the text after sms has been sent even if there will be multiple recipient supporti because sometimes I have to change just a word (like the name of the recipient). Then it would be useful having the text not automatically cleared or maybe an option to clear or not it after being sent. But I've a bigger problem: I've sent 4 sms to Vodafone Italy mobile phones and just 1 arrived... And I sent them 12 hours ago. Is there any problem with sending sms to italy? Thank you, Caio
Guest asif @ planus Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 Hi, ======= Italy -- Blu TIM Vodafone (Omnitel) WIND Telecomunicazioni ======= Although, I do recall the provider stating there were short delays. Are you putting in the number correctly? Regards Asif
Guest caio1 Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 Of course: With the spv app I sent 3 sms to myself always putting the same number like: xxyyyzzzzzzz, where xx is the international prefix (italy=39) yyy is the network prefix (mine is 340) and zzzzzzz is the number. Only the 1st arrived. I also tryed sending from your site putting the number in +39340zzzzzzz format and never arrived. 4 sms sent -> 1 arrived And in the "sms status" section there's nothing showed. Caio
Guest ajb3000 Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 have the other sms arrived yet? If not, can you tell me as precisely as possible the time you sent the sms?
Guest caio1 Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 The sms never arrived. However I think to have found the problem: when I send sms indicating the "from:" field as my mobile number with '+' (i.e. +39340xxxxxxx) this seems to stop every sms I send for about 12-15 hours. This happened to me twice. Now I send always with ther "from:" field equal to 39340xxxxxxx (without the '+') and it seems it works, at least to my company Vodafone Italy. I have to test if it works also to TIM company numbers as I sent 3-4 sms to TIM numbers and no one replied to me... but maybe they received them and just didn't reply. About the exact time when I sent the sms... well It was yesterday morning (here in italy, GMT+1) from 10.30am to 12am. Caio
Guest ajb3000 Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 yes the + in the sender id will mess things up, this has been said in previous thread I believe. we are working on an instruction page on our site detailing all the information on possible problems and workarounds. If you want me to check the status of a specific message you have sent but never recieved PM me with the number you sent it to and the time it was sent.
Guest FrankyG Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 re the suggestion that the text not be cleared when a message is sent; I agree that it should not be cleared. At least, that would be my preference ;) Maybe it would be better to not clear the text, but make it so that pressing and holding the back key while in the message compose field would clear all the text if that is what is required? At the moment you need to press the back key repeatedly to clear all text. Just my 2c FrankyG
Guest ajb3000 Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 you could press menu and clear to clear all text
Guest FrankyG Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 you could press menu and clear to clear all textYeah, thanks for that reminder; that kinda lends weight to the argument for leaving the message text after sending-since it is so easy to clear the text if required..yes? FrankyG
