I agree with everything said...I would like to capture an image and sen dit via email - that could be quite cool. Saving a curret position would take the hassel out of searching for it - which makes sense really. The file selector i dont think is important - like you say - we've got SMartexplorer - part from that - i'd say evrething was gravy.

I'd like to see someone set up a website with episodes from the simpsons, southpark etc already encoded for use on SPV - but i'm guessing there'll be legal complications etc.

Cheers

... and of course it would be nice to make a better "guide" for encoding MPEG's with the parameters suitable for PocketTV...

Besides spacecowboy6982, has anyone been able to encode some content ?

Yes, I've seen those two - BTW we have redone the matrix clip with parameters that makes the file smaller and play better.

I did notice that.... Mine was ment to kick the sh!t out the player to see what it would do (that's what im known for round these parts ;) ).... where yours is ment to run at the highest framerate pos.

Just out of interest why did you ask if anyone apart from spacecowboy6982 if you had seen mine?

Sorry, I just forgot about yours, in my mind I was thinking more about long movies or clips that people encode for their personal use (not posted publicly). Nothing personal ;)

Don't worry about me... In a bad mood today (have given up the smokes, cigs & the green stuff)!!

I was thinking more about long movies or clips that people encode for their personal use (not posted publicly).

Now that sound's kinda kinky!! ;)

Either Regedit is signed (it is possible), either your phone is locked.

Our CAB file is not signed in any way.

Try this link to unlock:

I heard that the Action button is a pain to press on the SPV (you almost always also press one of the 4 cursor keys around ?) so maybe it would be better to put the Fullscreen key somewhere else ?

On the Red-e, the action key pops out (maybe even too much!) so it is very easy to press.

That's why we want to allow the user to change the default key mapping (like we do on Pocket PC).

I know this is going to be a pain but could someone post the complete settings that they are using for TMPGEnc, because I keep getting very stuttering video whenever I encode something using the settings given at the beginning, but I am not sure if I have changed some of the settings that are the supposed 'default' settings that we keep the same, so a full list would be quite helpful.

Thanks

Start TMPGEnc.

Click Cancel to exit the Wizard.

Load your Video source.

Load the attached setting file.

Click on the Advanced tab:

Check source range if you want to encode just a segment. Double click on Source Range to select what segment you want to encode.

If the source is NOT a movie, un-check Inverse telecine. This option should be checked only if the source is originally a movie (i.e. from DVD), and not a 30 fps NTSC video.

Uncheck Custom Color Correction, unless you want to correct the color, gamma, saturation etc. to setup the various color correction, double click on Custom Color Correction.

Uncheck Clip frame unless you want to adjust the clipping, i.e. to remove black bands etc.

Click on the Video tab:

Click on setting in front of Rate Control mode. The parameter can be adjusted between 11 and 13 for quality (13 = good, 11 = medium)

Click on the Audio tab:

If you want mono audio, don't touch anything.

If you want stereo, select Joint-stereo in Channel mode. optionally, set Sampling freq to 44100, for a maybe better audio quality with "Medium" setting of PocketTV (I think...). Don't select 44100 if you want 32Kbit/sec mono, I think it will reduce the quality, compared to 32000.

Hit Start and wait...

Not possible attach files in this forum! I will post the content of the setting file (it's a text file, call it smartphone.mcf)

the first line of the file is "object...", then no empty lines until the end

hey again pocket tv team, it still gives me a signed error message.

i know, and i mean know, the spv is unlocked as i have downgraded to 1.3.5, edited the xml, and done the ota unlock

everything runs except the pockettv app.

btw i tried to extract the cab in dos ie typing "extract pockettv.smartphone_arm.cab *.*" and it still reckons theres a error in the cab....

How do you explain that close to 100 persons a day download the CAB from our http site, install the app, run it and enter the registration code on our website ?

Really, if the problem was happening to others besides you, someone would have posted something on this forum (or on the other ones).

I did check, though. I downloaded the CAB from our httpsite and it installed flawlessly on our Smartphone.

Are you 100% sure that your phone is unlocked ? Have you tried to install orther unsigned apps recently ?

i must be cursed with the cab from hell, but ive found a fix by downloading good old mono's OLD cab on his site and btw that extracted the exe fine and coping it it the dir on the card. it now runs. its not the latest exe i guess but it finally works!!!!

there is no way known to man (YET) that my phone isnt unlocked. it installs non certifed cabs and runs them all fine. it was a problem with the exe in the cab file. the rest extracted fine so it set up reg and such.

thank god for mono!!!!!

Thanks for those settings - getting much better results now - I must have changed one of the other options by mistake - I think it may have been the frame rate setting,

I have installed PocketTV perfectly on my Tanager (SPVx). Thank you PocketTV Team for the great software. Now I can play mpeg files on my phone.

I have read all posts not only from this thread, but almost all popular threads on this site. I am just curious since when an app is installed by one of the member and get the message that the app cannot be installed or there's an error in installation, one member will reply and say "did you unlock your phone?" or something like "did you de-certify your phone?". Just like what happened to jim08b (but the real problem is on the cab file not on the phone), PocketTV Team reply by saying "either your phone is locked". I'm a little bit confused here because I did not use any unlocker program nor de-certify the phone, and still no problems encountered yet to all files I've downloaded from this site or referenced by this site. Does this mean that when I acquired the phone from our local center here, it's already unlocked or de-certified? My phone is a Tanager, also known as SPVx. And when I view the About screen under Settings, here are the versions displayed:

Processor: ARM ARM720

ROM update versions:

Operator: 1.3.6.7

Manufacture: 1.3.6.7

Microsoft: 3.0.12255.0

Language: 1.3.6.7

File system: 3.0.12255.0

How does these settings differs from yours? Should I say that we are very lucky here that our phones were already unlocked or somehow de-certified?

I also tried hard resetting my phone, and when I install back all the software, they are all installed flawlessly. Have anyone experenced this one on their phone? Any feedback on my findings?
