Guest charliefunk Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 my phone keeps saying its low on virtual memory so i looked in SP Task Manager and the IPSM folder has a tiny bit of memory left..... Can someone tell me how to free up some space in this folder please?? Thanx :? ;)
Guest martin Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 Start off by going into inbox/SMS-menu-show folders and deleting all files no longer needed. Then goto IPSM/MAPI and see how many files remain.
Guest charliefunk Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 done that still hardly any space left??? any other thoughts?? :?
Guest martin Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 This is where the properties function in IA styles File Manager came in handy because you could just check the size of all your folders in IPSM using properties and trace the problem files that way. Have you checked it manually for applications, pictures, videos, sounds or anything else that has not been put on your storage card. Is the IPSM/MAPI (& ATTACHMENTS) directory now showing empty of files.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 Could it simply be that you've installed too many applications onto your phone? Check the IPSMMy Documents for any large files too.
Guest charliefunk Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 yeah the mapi folder is empty, right this maybe a silly question but when u have the option of installing to ur phone or card i choose card cause i dont wanna fill my phone memory up - should apps installed to ur card still appear in the remove programs list??
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 I've installed all of my app's to my 128meg card (and thats a hell of a lot of app's. see: http://www.monolithix.org/images/allstart.jpg), and all come up on the Remove Program's menu fine.
Guest martin Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 should apps installed to ur card still appear in the remove programs list?? YES.
Guest ist Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 maybe you can free up some memory by deleting the past appointments in your calendar? this can even be done automatically by outlook.
Guest CF Chong Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 pardon this newbie...I have just got a new smartphone and spending time on the inernet for whatever info that I can lay my fingers on... came upon this thread...i have a question to ask... i notice that emails are stored in the storage/windows/messaging folder...is there any way that i can move the storage of emails from the flash memory to the storage card? And not affecting Activesync.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 Welcome to the site ^_^ Unfortunaltely you cannot move them and Activsync would also not be very happy.
