Bug: Handset locks up when looking at a new text message

SYMPTOM:

Happened 3 times so far. Received new text message, Go into SMS / inbox, I can see who the text is from and the start of the message but then if i click on it to read the whole message i get the timer whizzing around at double the speed it usually does and thats it. I have to then take the battery out to get the phone to do anything which then looses my messages.

RESOLUTION:

Restart phone.

I just got this today as well - but for a text email message.

The symptons are if I open up this particular plain-text email it just displays a blank screen in the inbox application. I then go back to the home screen and as you say the 'busy' animation just stays and stays and you need to take the battery out. It seems to be for one particular plain-text email.

I get this all the time when receiving or having just sent MMS....

thats not a fix! lol thats what im already doing and its loosing the text messages I receive! :cry:

Me too - logged above as generally unresponsive when sounds are played - but yes its particularly bad when you receive a message.

If I have just turned on my SPV, and I receive an SMS straight away, then the "SMS, MMS, Email" summary link on the homepage will not work as a link to the Inbox, and the joypad seems to stop functioning. Luckily pressing the Home button unfreezes it.

However if I use the Mail icon at the top to go to the inbox first, then the "SMS, MMS, Email" summary link works correctly as a link afterwards.

If I do not receive an MMS as I turn the SPV on, then "SMS, MMS, Email" summary link works correctly as a link straight away.
