Guest Dallas Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 According to Orange the upcoming release of the Jornada 928 PPC phone edition has been “Flushed” Apparently (despite the phone being on Oranges web site for a couple months and CS telling people it was released in November) “Flushing” means that it will not be released. I was told the release that customer service is referring to was a limited corporate release and was not a general release. Orange decided to pull the plug because the returns from the corporate release were so high they could not keep up. Was also told the return rate for the SPV is the highest in Orange’s history and they have now completely run out of replacements and are offering the T68i as a loan handset until more SPV stock turns up. Sounds very much like we could be on the verge of another Sendo fiasco.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 A friend of mine has the 928 on VodaFone, it is so bug ridden, that not getting it on Orange is no great loss at all! P
Guest TZed9 Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 I have the 928, obviously the pre-release version. It's got PPC 2002 Phone edition and it kicks ass. The likely reasons for not launching it, are a) The charging jack connector broke on first insertion :D The lid hinge broke the second time I took it off. This within 24hr! Not going to please the corporate user, is it?
