I belive it's milestone 5 , meaning it's the 5th version (ie the most reasent) so Richie's should look most like the real thing

Oi my first one looked like the reall thing as well ;)

But that was based on M4 (build 4008) where as Milestone 5 (M5) is build 4015.

And yes Meaks it is the new Windows OS due for about 2005 i believe , it's still in Alpha ATM so not even Beta

Sorry Richie, I know your m4 looks like windows longhorn, but your M5 should look more like the final release of Longhorn, unless they decide to totally redesign it ;)

There are some screenshots of 4015 on www.neowin.net and I think there is some on www.winbeta.org

If you want some screenshots of particular areas of 4015 (such as the control panel etc) then give me a shout and I will take them for you.

M5 hmmmm........ sounds interesting, hope the new file system will be on it! oooohh cant wait.

M4 was not bad lovely tweeks but nothing much to write home about but enjoyed it none the less.

back to xp though with the longhorn feel. David try getting icon packager and load the longhorn icons on the xp theme! looks great and gives it that extra feel of something different.

thinking bout moving to something something more stable Win2003 Standard server sounds good....

If you are havin probs stop the WinFS service, that should help alot (a must if it's a VM). :D

I still cant believe M5 is still only an Alpha, it's more stable and more functional than some Betas i've used ;)

Is it any more stable than 4008?

Not really played to much with it yet.... But i have had Explorer.exe go down on me (oh er) a couple of times, but that was when i was messing about with the search function in the sidebar, and we all know that depends on WinFS....

I will report back when i have had more of a fiddle (Ooo Matron)...
