Guest lutzh Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 hi there somehow i've managed to be stucked on the tanager "orange startup screen" (which is the SMART startup screen in this case) and cant get out of it- i have no chance to get in the boot menue (pressing and hold the record + power up key doesnt do anything). all i can do is switching on and off by unlocking the battery. is there any other trick to get it back to work or is it a replacement job? thanks for your help, lutz

Guest lutzh Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 not even a week! well i was playing around trying to do a backup on sd- but instead of writing to the card i probably startet to write something from the card (bootloader)- realizing that i removed the akku. and yes thats very stupid. but i was not 100 % clear in my mind that day. so its another week till i get a new one and send this one back to phili for replacement... cheers and thank you, lutz

Guest midnight Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 SONEC, hard reset is yer best bet mate :lol: quick instructions (mentioned before on this site, but oh well) just power on while holding in the record button (keep record button held down until a screen appears that says 'press any key to enter bootloader', at this point, press and hold the action button (joystick pressed down on tanager), until you reach a screen that has a menu, with option no. 8 being 'erase IPSM', selct this option, wait until its finished doing its stuff, so it says 'Erased blah blah ....OK' then power off the phone and reboot again (should do it automatically). The reboot will now take ages, but just be patient.

Just to update what i originally said, if your phone hangs on the Orange sunset screen it will should be fixable with a hard reset. Only rerun the update if you had problems running the update to start with. Cheers
