Guest gradiation Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 Just installed it and it does seem to show you what time you have your alarm set at, though when i clicked it it wouldn't take me to the folder, it came up with an error, so whether the DLL is liking to a folder or app with a french name i don't know.

Also, would we need to use a standard Orangle layout in order to use it or could this be incorporated into skins like Longhorn etc? Would be cool thing to have working! ;)
Guest gradiation Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 It does work actually, but it links to the settings link in the start menu, rather than the actual EXE so because i moved my link it didn't work. Once installed u should be able to use it in any theme i belive.

Guest gradiation Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 I can confirm, installed it, and it installed a DLL in the home folder aswell as a theme using it as an example, the only reason it won't work fully for me is because i don't have the setting folder link in the default place. Other than that it seems to work a treat.

I got no idea how to recompile DLL s though. Do I have to use the theme that comes with it as well or can I just keep on using Longhorn?

Guest Richie M Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 Erm, it works fine (ish) If your alarm isn't set it says "read registry error" where the time should be; but as soon as it's set it shows the time :) Gradiation; why do you wanna recompile it? Madu; It's the same as anyother homescreen plug-in, just take the CLSID reference out of the exapmle xml ;)

I would still like to see if someone could recompile it though linkin to the EXE as i don't like havin hidden icons all over the place, but it'll be ok for now. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, now to incorporate it into my longhonr theme ;) Any ideas?

Didn't realise cos i've got the Shortcut there :roll: Erm it should be very simple to change especially as he was kind enough to supply the source code, just open it up in the SDK and off you go ;)

Everytime i followed the link to the settings folder, it wouldn't let me out again. so i was going to wait till a proven version was out. But if anyone ones to compile the one i suggested i would be glad to try it out, but i don't know how to use the SDK, and nore do i hace C or VB installed
