Just installed it and it does seem to show you what time you have your alarm set at, though when i clicked it it wouldn't take me to the folder, it came up with an error, so whether the DLL is liking to a folder or app with a french name i don't know.

Wicked, so it is an alarm plugin.

1. You reckon it would be easy enough for someone to edit so it would work for us guys in UK?

2. Also, would we need to use a standard Orangle layout in order to use it or could this be incorporated into skins like Longhorn etc?

Would be cool thing to have working! ;)

It does work actually, but it links to the settings link in the start menu, rather than the actual EXE so because i moved my link it didn't work.

Once installed u should be able to use it in any theme i belive.

If anyone knows how to compile a DLL for smartphone i would much apprechiate a version where it links to the EXE

Do you know how to recompile a DLL or do u just have ur LNK still in the default position?

Posted

Why is it a cab though?? What does it install?

And how do you put it in an xml - DLL, CLSID?

Anyone managed to get it to show alarm time and can confirm working??

I can confirm, installed it, and it installed a DLL in the home folder aswell as a theme using it as an example, the only reason it won't work fully for me is because i don't have the setting folder link in the default place.

Other than that it seems to work a treat.

Cheers for the post gradiation ;)

I have the setting in the default location, so hopefully it should be ok for me. I got no idea how to recompile DLL s though.

Do I have to use the theme that comes with it as well or can I just keep on using Longhorn?

Got an idea for that. Create that shortcut where it must be for plugin and then make it 'hidden' using SmartExplorer or similar.. VOILA!

oooooooh, u clever so and so.

Chico u should be able to keep using Longhorn, but seeing as non of the Longhorn themes use the plugin (yet ;)) it won't do anything yet.

Erm, it works fine (ish)

If your alarm isn't set it says "read registry error" where the time should be; but as soon as it's set it shows the time :)

Gradiation; why do you wanna recompile it?

Madu; It's the same as anyother homescreen plug-in, just take the CLSID reference out of the exapmle xml ;)

Cool it works hiddin the link. it only takes u to the settings folder though not the date and time, though i suppose thats no biggy.

I would still like to see if someone could recompile it though linkin to the EXE as i don't like havin hidden icons all over the place, but it'll be ok for now.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, now to incorporate it into my longhonr theme ;)

Any ideas?

i mean compile it so that the link on the plugin takes u to the executable rather than the link file that should be in the start menu folder, cos i've moved mine.

hehe i just re-read your posting about it linking to the shortcut.

Didn't realise cos i've got the Shortcut there

Erm it should be very simple to change especially as he was kind enough to supply the source code, just open it up in the SDK and off you go ;)

i've downloaded the source and i know where the line is that i need to change, i just have no idea how to compile a DLL. though i guess that's my next thing to learn then, seeing as i knew nothing pretty much last week ;)

And if you could make it hide when there is no alarm or something similar?

gradiation you have to incorperate this into the longhorn clock screen at your earliest convience. Very useful me thinks

Was going to but i was having problems with it. Everytime i followed the link to the settings folder, it wouldn't let me out again. so i was going to wait till a proven version was out. But if anyone ones to compile the one i suggested i would be glad to try it out, but i don't know how to use the SDK, and nore do i hace C or VB installed
