Orange Update - Problems with Win 98

Apologies if this has been answered before. I'm still having difficulty dowloading the Orange Update via Win 98. Have tried the Modaco posted method of UK update followed by French update. The UK update works to a point and then fails (as advertised) but when I go into the French update it gets so far and then I get some sort of message about my SPV not being connected to the PC (but it is!!).

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I got it to work, with great difficulty, after a lot of help from here, involving uninstalling my USB, and lots of swearing.

However, in the last few days, it has become possible for you to take it to your local O shop, and get them to do it for you.

This may prove a better option for you.
