Guest Dave DR Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 also how can you assosiate files with programs? cheers
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 There is a registry hack for file associations, i'll try and dig it out later. To make your phone virbrate and ring go to Programs > Settings > Profiles Select a profile and click "on call", you'll have a list of all ring/vibrate combination options.
Guest Dave DR Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Nice onw.. me being blonde by the looks of things... i need to assosiate Avi's with the Divx Program...
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 To associate files with certain programs use RegEdit and do as follows: (This is an example for txtfiles seeing that's the only one I've done! But it can be done with any file-type) HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT // txtfile // Shell // Open // Command // Values // Default In there you change the Value date to the path where your program lies. In my case it's: "Storage CardMy DocumentsMy UtilsOrnetaNotepad.exe" %1 Remember the " For avifiles it would be this: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT // avifile // Shell // Open // Command // Values // Default "blah blah root to program" %1 Good luck...

The reason being that I'm deaf and I wouldn't feel it going off in my pocket, would be of great benefit to me and other deaf users. Many thanks! ;)

Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 You can edit the registry for SMS HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Notifications Click on Values and select Script Now for example change the Value Data to v1w1v1w1v1 This will change your vibrate notifications to vibrate 1 sec wait 1 sec Vibrate 1 sec etc but keep your incoming call vibrate unchanged. This works until you reboot the phone. I do not know if the same can be applied to call notifications though as I have not found a way yet.

But can I ask how do I edit this and find the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Notifications file too, is that via Activesync explore or on the phone itself? Would be grateful for step by step instructions if possible please. Thank you. ;)

Guest Steviecooluk Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 Here you go ;) http://www.phm.lu/Products/Smartphone/RegEdit/ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for the link and I've tried installing it but it doesn't appear to work, as it's not happening on installing into my C500 phone. Although noticed it's for Smartphone 2002, but I've got Windows Mobile 2003 second edition, would that have any effect? I've already rebooted phone but nothing still! Any ideas please, and sorry for this!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 Have you application unlocked your phone? if I remember right you will need to. I have this app running on my C500 without a problem.

Does this mean it's unlocked? I can't find the app on my phone. Might need a zip file installed in phone.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 As it mentioned on the site if the installer is not working on the PC try the cab file instead. Using activsync place this file in Storage\Windows\Start menu\Accessories then on the phone go to your Accessories folder and you should then be able to select and install the file you have just placed there.
