Sometimes when I use the camera attachment and go to take a photo, it can take up to 30 seconds for the phone to take the picture after I have pressed capture! It's very frustrating as after I have pressed the capture button I am having to hold the camera still untill it decides to actually take the picture!

Why is this? How can I stop it doing this?

Yeah, it isnt the quickest camera on earth :? I was looking at something else here and I found this thread - it makes mention of camera activity speeding up after files (or links) are deleted from the IPSM folder.

Have a look here

It might be of use ;)

Not had any problems with my camera post-update...

The threads been updated - might be an idea to hang on until someone volunteers to test this by re-booting their phone.

post update the camera is fine, should take the picture instantly, then a slight delay while the picture is saved.

pre-update it had anywhere between 1 and 3 seconds delay

but 30 seconds? thats just rediculous and MY solution (hehe, and probably only my solution) would be to try a hard reset, something dont sound right somewhere.

Sorry - I'm still learning - TSCRYPTO, what do you mean by this thread - how can I find the information about deleating these files out of the ISPM?

Bear in mind I am a novice!

What he means is keep an eye on the topic (thread) that was linked to above to see

if removing the files affected the phone in other ways.

But with the time scale you are quoting I would go with midnight's suggestion of trying a hard reset

as 30 seconds is way too long :?

Cool! Things are starting to make a bit of sense now! So how can I do a hard reset? Is that something I'll find in the manual? Should I be aware of anything before I do it?

And does anyone have trouble with the phone freezing after you have finished on an incoming call that you received while the keypad lock is on - cos I do!

This is how to do a hard reset.

OK start the process follow these instructions,

1, power off the phone

2, Make sure the storage card is in the phone

3, Press and hold the record button and press the power button

4, When the phone starts to power up release the buttons and you should

see the message "Card Found"

5, You should then get the message press any key, Press the action

button for more than two seconds to enter the boot loader.

7, In the boot loader choose Erase IPSM when this has finished is should

display "Passed"

8, Now Press and hold the Powerbutton to restart the phone.

And that's it ;)

PS the phone should not freeze as you posted either :?

I tink he means that the phone stays on the call screen after the call has ended when he has the keypad lock on.

This is anoying, you have to unlock the keypad go back to the home screen and then re-lock it.

I agree with what you say but it's not what I would call freezing?

hugh can you enlighten us on what you mean by "freezing" please ;)

Otherwise if you mean what ben1598 posted then yep it's just a pain and normal :)

Basicly this freezing thing happens if I receive an incoming call with the keypad lock on. When the call is finished the phone display shows the duration of call and who it was etc and also gives you the option to view calender and contact. But that is it, the soft key that would normally say unlock does not give me that option so I am stuck on the finished call screen - unable to unlock the keypad to then clear the screen back to the home screen.

Hope this makes sense!

On the subject of this hard reset - will I loose any information or settings from the phone?

Doing a hard reset will transform your SPV into 'just out of the box' state!

So no contacts/apps etc etc

So you then have to pull the battery and reboot?

There was a similar problem with sms and a locked phone after the first

Danish update but this has been fixed with newer updates.

So apart from a hard reset (which does sound like you need it ;))

how old is the phone? as it may be worth trying to update it if it's an

older version.
