Guest mdawkins Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Can someone please tell me how you can refresh the Start Menu when copying new shortcuts into it without turning the SPV off and on again. Thanks Martin.
Guest HelloDave Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Go into a higher level folder than the current one (eg Games if you're in programs) and then press back. ;)
Guest fraser Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Don't copy new shortcuts into /IPSM/Windows/Start Menu. Instead, copy them into a subdirectory of there, and they usually appear straight away. Alternatively, if you have a Task Manager application, kill the process "Programs".
Guest Speedy Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 This is a little bit tricky. Sometimes they are there immediately, especially if you put them in one of your subfolders like games, accessories etc. If you put in default start menu try and wait a bit or maybe run a program. Give the phone a chance to refresh by it self. Works for me... 8)
Guest Speedy Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 He he, three of typing it in at the same time Can't blame people for not wanting to help, cheers guys.... 8)
Guest mdawkins Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Thanks for that, saves me switching the phone off and on again everytime! Martin
Guest madu Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Folder trick always does it for me! PS: It's not higher level folder, but a lower-level, subfolder... No big deal, move along....
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 I go into Task Manager and shuts down 'programs' (and everthing else *hehe*) .. and the Start Menu appears to be refreshed...
Guest spacemonkey Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 I go into Task Manager and shuts down 'programs' (and everthing else *hehe*) .. and the Start Menu appears to be refreshed... Everything else except tray he means.... but you learn that pretty quick anyway ;)
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Yeah my bad, what I meant was I close down 'programs' via Task Manager (which seems to refresh the Start Menu next time I open it)! And while I'm at it .. I quit all non sys. apps. *nod & pat self*
Guest madu Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 Everything else except tray he means.... but you learn that pretty quick anyway ;) "HE" you say? :)
