Guest billinvegas Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 Hi... about to make a decision on a smartphone... for about the same price, I can get either: Orange SPV (unlocked) or Red E SC1100 (part of SDK) all things considered, which do you think is the better phone? Looks/apperance is not a major issue for me. the one thing concerning me about the SC1100 is the fact that it's "pre-release", and basically the warranty only says that it will guarantee that it powers up...not much beyond that. concerns about stability, bugs, etc... thanks for the feedback... Bill
Guest Gorskar Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 I think you are probably better off with the SPV. You can get it cheaper, and it is better supported. It also comes with all accessories: camera, headphones, cradle, charger 8mb SD card, rubbishy case. Also another user (florinm) mentioned that the warranty support for the rede phone is extremely poor, so if theres anything wrong with it, good luck getting a replacement! Although you might prefer the button configuration on the red e, all things considered I'd still go for the SPV because of the support issue.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 Certainly the SPV over the Red E. From what i've read and been told there have been major problems with the firmware (esp. the latest release). The SPV is up to date, ready and warrantied...
