Guest Richie M Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 Ok I've quickly moddified the new Alarm Plug-in as found in this thread. Just changed it so if you havent got the Settings shortcut in your Start Menu, it'll still work ;) Just uninstall the previous version and run this CAB :) [edit] I've removed the download untill further notice due to an occasional bug that can lock the phone up :D I will reup when fixed. [uPDATE] Ok I've uploaded the simple version for now this version does not allow you to edit the alarm via the plug-in [uPDATE] See page 6 for new version [uPDATE] See page 7 for new version [uPDATE] See page 7 for new versionalarmplug.ARM.zip

Guest gradiation Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 DOH! this means i have to make another version of my skin now. U fixed the thing when u have no alarm set too?
Guest Richie M Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 U fixed the thing when u have no alarm set too? It works fine on mine ;) and shows Off when it's off, if it says "error reading registry" (or what ever the message was) just reboot the phone and it should be ok (i cant see why it does happen tho, as you only get that message if the .dll can't find the Alarm registry value :?)
Guest Thurstan Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 What's this? What does it do? Cheers
Guest gradiation Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 Shows what time your alarm is set to as part of a home screen.
Guest Thurstan Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 Ah ok so you have to have the plug-in enabled in the xml and all that jazz?
Guest Richie M Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 Ah ok so you have to have the plug-in enabled in the xml and all that jazz? yes m8, there is the original demo Homescreen included with (altered to English) but it doesn't automatically load, just go into Homescreens and select Alarmplugin Demo to see it ;)
Guest gradiation Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 I was intregged with the cab file cos there was no reference in the setup.xml to and registry strings, so how is the DLL setup? does the dll just need to be in the home folder or something?

Guest madu Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 Nice 1 Richie! And it actually takes you straight to date/time options within settings if 'Settings' is not running already.. Does it always get a selection highlight when selected?? I removed all the entries that could affect that, but no luck. still get a selection size of text, not full line.. What defines that in original code?? Ta.
Guest Richie M Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 I'm not sure Madu, if you mean with the demo homescreen, all i done with that was change it so it showed the word "Alarm". If i remember rightly, there is a part in the dll code that defaults colours if it can not find them specified in the xML but i'm not sure if it included the selection, if i get chance i'll have a look tonight ;)
Guest gradiation Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr, i'm still having a problem with this plugin, every time i click it to go through to the settings folder, it never let me out and i have to remove the battery to be able to leave. Anyone else having any similar problems?
Guest gradiation Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 Plus i can't get a BG image to display behind it, or get rid of that bloody highlight when it's selected. <plugin clsid="{21800C38-E156-4423-B95D-EB0D75DB95D2}" name="alarmPlugin" height="20"> Â <background bgcolor="transparent" halign="center" valign = "top" bgimage="IPSMApplication DataHomeLonghornSPVProClock_01_02.gif"/> Â <format state="unselected" fgcolor="#003C80" font-face="nina" font-size="12" font-style="normal" x="120" y="5" w="22" halign="center" valign="top" /> Â <format state="selected" fgcolor="#003C80" font-face="nina" font-size="12" font-style="normal" x="120" y="5" w="22" halign="center" valign="top" /> Â <text>Alarm:</text> </plugin> Anyone any ideas?
Guest Richie M Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 Gradiation, i've been testing this tonight and found the same bug - occasional lock-ups, therefore i've removed the download untill it's fixed. Also i dont think it supports bgimage; and i did say i'll look into the highlight when i get chance (busy boy me) ;)
Guest gradiation Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 Hehe, i have found a work around for some problems, i changed the default BG image and set the highlight colour to match the bit underneath it (it just fits before the colur changes) so it is pretty much there. But yet another problem, i don't seem to be able to change the selected text colour from white grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I guess i'll have to leave it for now then, untill someone (hint hint) fixes all the bugs out. Ahh well ;) I'm a busy boy too working on a SPV site, should be pretty cool when it's done. Let us know if you make anymore alterations. Cheers Richie
Guest gradiation Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 Yay i now have 2 thingies ;) <-------------------------------
Guest dinoalbert Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 Hi. Can the Alarm Plugin be used with other Themes such as Xbox, etc? How? Thanks....
Guest gradiation Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 It can but it's still very buggy so i wouldn't suggest it. Problem with the xbox theme aswell would be that, you'd probabley need an image behind it, and as of yet, the plugin doesn't support image backgrounds. I belive it's on Richie M's list to fix, but untill then, i really wouldn't bother.
Guest madu Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 Re Lockup Bug: I noticed that it happens when I have 'Settings' running then click 'Home' and then action on alarmplug... Then it takes you in, but does not go into Date/Time settings and if you select '4 Home' it locks up... Well, just seemed to be a bit of a trend... Also, I got the bugger to be black/invisible when selected - so it seems that color can be changed - no badword use whatsoever though...

Yeah, the lockup bug is a strange one, unfortunately de-bug doesnt help with it  so it case of changing code and trying it  the only sure fire way to stop it is to remove the selection part, but thats the part that makes it so cool. Er colour changes and background images should work, if you just change the values in the supplied demo xml, but i still have to test this further.
