Guest madu Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 FEAR NOT - I have a solution!! ;) General idea: When writing SMS do: Menu> [2]Insert Text>[x]PresetSlot These quicktexts can be modified to anything you want, but you need to be able to input the non-standard characters/letters in the first place. For this purpose there is a PC!! This involves Remote Registry(-ing) and the only way I know of doing it is using eVT3.0 (w/ SP2002 SDK) that can be downloaded (~300MB) on MS website. Search for more info on this or try here: (http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=48142) Now Launch the eVT and go Tools > Remote Registry Connect to Smartphone (device) and goto: HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftInboxPresetMsgs You will find values 1-9 (representing quicktext slots), there should be 2 entries per each value. Edit both entries for each preset slot (1-9). Do not amend '0' value - it is not used. Then when typing up sms do: Menu>[2]shortcut>[X]shortcut where X is the number of the preset slot. A 3-click solution. You have 9 to assign... ENJOY!! TIP: If you need more than 9 additional characters, try putting 2 (less used chars) together in 1 slot and then just deleting 1 when you type... PS: If there is an easier way to edit registry from PC please share, that SDK is a bit heavy.... :? PSS: I am sure it is possible to make a CAB to do that, but I am no good for that... If someone fancies pointing me in the right direction (/topic/ hinthint) I will gladly have a look!!
