orange update or not orange update?

Hello peeps. I have a decertefied spv:

Rom Updates:

operator : 1.1.6.0

Microsoft: 3.0.1225.0

File sustem: 3.0.12255.0

Language: 1.1.6.0

I would like to know :

1)what updates i require (i heard that one of them improves battery life)

2)will it update a phone thats been decertified?

I have heard that peeps have problem with updating if the have 98xxx opertaing system.But i have xp so i guess that helps.

1)I'd recommend you download and run the first UK update, available from orange.com

This will up your battery life, fix the backlight coming on all the time in your pocket problem, and install 2 new apps (sound and picture manager)

2)Yes, it will work fine on a decertified phone. It *should* remain decertified after the update, but if it doesn't then you can always decertify again. Orange can decert for you here, which is the easy way or you can still do it via the old way, see here and here for more details.
