Hi whats the difference between the Smartface, Caller2Picture, and IA Caller ID apps? Which do you recommend?

Thanks..

SmartFace is in a very late beta release, works well and is free.

Caller to picture is pretty much the same but certified (i think) and commercial.

IA-Caller is in a limited beta stage. See the IA-Style forum for more details.

At the moment, i'd suggest SmartFace.

Ouch!!

If you keep your ringtones and your pictures down to a reasonable minimum, it works perfectly though!

My caller id pics are 8-10kb .. I could probably cut this down to 3kb pr pic, but I'm too lazy to change what I've done so far!

And my ringtone is fairly small as well 150kb. So no trouble here!

Thanks - so it's the size of the picture not the speed of the app .... cool thanx

Yeah.... ;)

After experimentation, my pic's on SF are now 1/4 the res of the SPV's screen and load fine.

Just curious. Isn't it make more sense if a Photo ID application can help user to manage and re-size the photo to make sure the size fit response time?

Have anyone tried the Caller ID applications' phone number matching rules and can make sure the phone numbers can always be matched properly? To me, the phone number matching and display performacne seem to be basic requirement. How does the exicsting applications performace on these?

All seems fine to me. As it happens Smartface can resize images when they're displayed, however this won't affect the filesize which appears to be hte problem.

I'm one of the IA Caller ID beta testers, not have much chance to test it yet though. I'll port on the Beta thread when i get a better feel for it ;)
