Thought this should be brought to attention in main (software) forum area:

WARNING: Dont rename registry values with the remore registry editor

If you rename a string value (I mean, change the name on the value, using

right-click on the name in the right pane, then chose "Rename" in the

pop-up), then the remote registry editor will rename a DIFFERENT value (not

the one currently selected!!!).

I don't know it the bug applies to any values or just to string values.

If you don't know the original name of the value that was incorrectly

changed, then you're doomed (and may have to do a hard-reset to restore the

proper system keys).

I've edited plenty of string values using Remote regedit...?

Well now, that's interesting. He's right, I just verified it. Give it a try -- keep in mind that the bug is with renaming an existing value, not editing the value data.

Oops sorry! Misinterpreted that. How likely is it that MS update the evc++ 3.0 tools before the .NET'ed version is released...

You know all those little updates they feed you all the time.....

Nope, for all MS stuff...

I only use eVC for Remote Registry. Is there a way to do remote Reg with some simple little app??

That's what i meant, i'll be there aren't any updates for evc++ as it stands...

Anyway... ;)

Only solution would be PHM with Remote DSP? :)

But it only allows entering characters that can be entered via SPV ;)

So my Preset Msgs in NewSMS for extra characters would not work.... I tried.

That's no good!
