Guest E.T.-FREAK Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 How can I tell if my Phone is de-certied. I bought it on Ebay and the seller said it was unlocked and de-certified. I know it was unlocked cause I'm on T-Mobile in U.S.A. But I can't tell if it's de-certified. Someone help. Can you also post Instructions on how to de-certify it. (Just in case.) Thanks, E.T.-FREAK
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 Download some free apps (see Monolithix site) - install them. If they run .. it's decertified. If not .. well you guessed it. It's not!! See this thread for instructions on how to decert: >>Click Me
Guest E.T.-FREAK Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 Is there a setting to get the serial numbers and stuff. I don't have any of that info on hand. Thanks, E.T.-FREAK
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 *#06# and "make call" will return your IMEI, its also printed on the sticker under the battery.
Guest jaimiemalone Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 what is de-certified? My phone is unlocked but how do I know if it is de-certified or not when I can not get a signal? Using cingular in NC also in US Help!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 De-certified means you can run apps that have not been digitaly signed. When you are talking about signal I presume you are talking about unlocking the phone for use on any network? The only way to see if this has worked would be to try the phone with a SIM from another network.De-certified means you can run apps that have not been digitaly signed. Guest jaimiemalone Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 Doesn't the phone work in all GSM networks? I am in the US and tried yeaterday to get service through Cingular and had the GSM setting selected not the PCS. I was told from another thread that I should have had GSM selected and then it should work. Is this correct? Any help in getting my phone up and running would be greatly appreciated! I can't wait to use it. ALso what ab. the keyboards? How do I know if it will work? Can you give me any great recommendations on free applications to download? Last thing...what sz. storage card would you reccomend me purchasing I have a 64 and was going to get a 256, do I need all of that space? Thanks
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 About storage cards, it really depends what you want to use your phone for. If you like listening to music on the go, or watch small clips (or entire movies) then you definitely want a 256mb card. I only have about 60mb left - and while that's a lot, I could easilly fill it up! =) Free apps must haves: Task Manager, Smart Explorer, RegEdit There rest are just for bragging and customization. (Read: Depends from person to person) but check out Monolithix' site, it offers download to freeware, along with a SHORT description, so you can checkout what sounds cool and test it out!
Guest jaimiemalone Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 thanks I will look into it...now i just have to get the phone to recognize the new SIM card...
