One of the really cool thing about going to the Modaco event was seeing what people actually looked like ;) And there were quite a few surprises :shock:

I'll probably get laughed at but here's my idea :idea:

For one day only, on a pre-determined date, everyone changes their Avatars to a real picture of themselves, and then changes it back the day after :!:

What does everyone think :?: D'ya think it would be a laugh, or should I just shut up :roll:

Hey Simon, cool idea mate.

Just to add my thoughts, if we have this sort of thing on a predetermined day then there'd be loads of traffic on the site just to see what everyone looks like (well thats the idea you'd say) but how many ppl actually post everyday?

So, how about the birthday boy/girl showing their real pics?? We could have a TOPIC dedicated to birthdays and the above mentioned post a mail there?? This way many more faces will be seen.

Imagine 5000 members changing their avatars. How many will post?? And if they dont, no chance of them being seen.

Assuming plenty of members think it's a good idea, I thought maybe Paul or a mod could do a Global Announcement, giving a few days notice so people can get a picture organized.

Then, I don't know how it would work? I suppose you could start a thread on the chosen day asking people to post once they'd changed their avatars.

I suppose there would need to be some kind of rules as well, nothing rude, only genuine pix etc etc.

Do people think a day is enough, or should we make it a "SHOWUSYAMUGSHOT WEEKEND" ?

When you change your avatar, it will change on any posts made previously, as well as any new ones.

Its a bit much to make it a global imho, if you contact Paul and he says otherwise thats fine (he's away til tuesday btw). I think you'll find the majority of people that do do it are the "regulars", most of which post in OT anyway.
