One of the main annoyances of the spv in my opinion is the slowness of the picture on the screen which camera displays before you take a photo.

From what people say on other threads this due to the camera's inteface rather than the speed of the spv itself.

Anway, I was wondering if it would be theoretically possible for someone to make a program which lowers the resolution of the image the camera gives you as a viewfinder but still gives you a high res photo when you press the take picture button. I am sure this is probably technically very difficult and maybe impossible I just thought it would be useful if anyone knew a way they could write a program to do this.

That would be almost impossible becouse of the way the cam works (hardware). I think it has the same problem as some webcams (cheap ones) those are also slow with the refresh rate of the cam. So I think that it has nothing to do with the software but with the Limits of the hardware.
