Guest gallini Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 Has anyone bought CodeWallet Pro ? Is it worth buying? Is it secure ? - Does it "phone home" with all the passwords etc ???? any words of wisdom ? gallini ;)
Guest brnoblade Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 I have bought Codewallet Pro and I have had no problems yet. I have found it secure, as my son can confirm( hours spent trying to find my password) Blade-4-Life
Guest Soyale Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 DevOne are a reputable company with a decent history in making Smartphone applications. I've met a couple of them and I think it's unlikely that the app phones home with passwords! I use it and I find it useful (with my rapidly deteriorating memory). jp
Guest gallini Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 yea - I have been speaking to them and seem decent ... the "phone home" was with reference to internet spyware apps that "phone home" and send viewing info and/or password to the creator of the app - so I didn't mean actually dialing home - but maybe there is a gap in the market there ?!! Anyway thanks for the comments - much appreciated - u can never be too carefull with credit card info etc. cheers gallini
Guest Smartphoner Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 I've found problems when using their sync tool, it doesn't seem to connect to my SPV E200.
Guest kjk Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 I've found problems when using their sync tool, it doesn't seem to connect to my SPV E200. you have to close codewallet on your phone to sync with your computer but ther is not exit option in codewallet so you have to use third party app to close codewallet f.eks use task manager to close/kill codewallet on your phone then you can sync it with your computer
Guest svk Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 Selecting "wallets" from the menu will also close the current wallet and allow it to sync. This allows you to keep CodeWallet pro open on the phone and still sync.
Guest FRiC Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 I'm just using a trial version, but I notice that I can delete an entire "wallet" from the wallet screen without having to enter a password. Is this normal?
Guest yoos Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 As far as functionality goes... I HIGHLY recommend this app. I like it VERY much... I have absolutely no problems with syncing as I ensure the program is closed on the phone (SPV classic) and the PC...
Guest Smartphoner Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 Thanks a lot kjk and svk, I can't try it now, but I will very soon.
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 Yeh - i reviewed it a while back now - brilliant
Guest kjk Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 opppssss that was wrong post. YES! I DON'T LIKE THAT I THING THIS IS A BIG HOLE IN SECURITY
Guest svk Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Please explain why you feel it is a security hole?
Guest kjk Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 i feel hole in security that anybody can take your phone and delete your wallet so you loose all your data you don't need password to delete wallet Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest yoos Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 If you sync it with your PC with the codewallet sync pack you have a backup on the PC... If it's deleted on your phone it's not a big deal to get it back.

Guest svk Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 I think the scenario you are describing is unlikely. Furthermore if someone was that determined to delete your wallet file they could navigate the file system and delete it that way.
Guest FRiC Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Unlikely or not, being a "security" application, it should at least ask for the password or have a double confirmation before erasing your entire file. Strangely enough, I looked at eWallet and that also deletes your entire wallet file without asking for a password. So maybe this is by design. I know I won't be using my phone to keep my important data...

Guest mt01631 Posted March 9, 2004 Report Posted March 9, 2004 HI I have installed CW Pro and when installed on my phone it automatically save all my wallets to the storage folder on the 200, is there any way I can change it so the wallets are actually on my storage card? Cheers Mark
Guest kjk Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 when you creat new wallet it will ask you to choose a storage so you can choose storage card or you can use activsync codewallet and choose storage card
