Guest GHI Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 I saw that other topic with irc - but i think it kinda broke .. i tested IRC with MBodens telnet, and i got connected. I have a result from my desktop (i couldn't access Telnet with SmartSS on!) I ain't a c++ programmer, so i can't make some app for it to connect automatically. - Just if anyone is in "project-idea-needing" ;) ^^ If anyone needs to know how to connect .. i can show an example on connecting: First you connect to irc: e.g irc.quakenet.org with port 6667 After this you would be connected - do this: USER somename localhost localhost :Firstname Lastname Then type: NICK yournickname Then it should write PING : After this, you need to apply, by doing this: PONG : Then you are connected :) As some commands you can write privmsg #channame text to write a message to a channel when not joined (or remove the # and write a username to write a message to a specified user) Join :#channame to join a channel Hope there's some useful information here :D (Here's a preview from my desktop:)desktop.JPG
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 We've already played with that on IRC ;)

Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 There was one in development, never went anywhere though. If you'd like to take the project on though i'm sure there would be a lot of happy users ;)
