Just flicking through the new Orange catalogue on the train and noticed that the SPV can now be bought for £199 gbp on pay as you go.

Not bad really for a non-contract phone that does so much. They really must be trying to shift stock.

Thats very cheap, considering thats what they go for on ebay approx, and far better to get a payG one than a second hand one if they are the same price.

A PayG one will be properly registered with you as the user, and you will be able to take out orange care, + you will have proper warranty, and get a payG sim card - all advantages over a 2nd hand ebay purchase.

I guess PayG will help to shift them a lot faster.

Does that include all the accessories? If so it's really good value, when you consider what Orange themselves are asking for them, it'd be worth it for spares:-

Camera £99.00, Battery £49.99, Case £14.99, USB Sync Cradle 39.99 etc. etc.

(I know you can buy them cheaper elsewhere)

If it does include all the extras, then it's pretty obvious they want to clear some stock and that the Tanager can't be too far away for UK release?

Yeah,

you're right amo. Orange phoned me today to tell me my phone was faulty(i phoned 2 weeks ago about my phone resetting itself and i could get it replaced......blah blah).

I asked the woman from Orange will their be any new phones like the SPV out in the near future(knowing about tanager etc etc, just thought she'd might know something new).

She said the SPV2 is due out in the summer, probably in about 2 months, she also was saying how more improved and user friendly it was. I asked her where would i stand if i wanted to upgrade/replace the handset for the SPV2 due to all the problems i've had and numerous replacements. She just clammed right up...'ummm well we're really not sure when it's comming out, on the front line we only get told about new models a few weeks before we sale them etc etc and i would probably have to wait till my contract, 12 months, has expired or pay even more to upgrade before my contract expired.

Don't get me wrong, i love this phone but i just don't like being ?ucked my Orange!

AMO: Not that I'm doubting you, but what's you source for Tanager release date?

neuronisis: SPV2 is a different phone to the Tanager - it has a built in camera for a start - not sure what other differences there are. Have seen somewhere that it is scheduled for a September release date.
