Guest bensy Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 I managed to copy the following files to my storage card. Adobe Acrobat reader.cab Adobe Acrobat reader.cab.dat Adobe Acrobat reader.cab.xml I believe that these are the installation files. However, I still can not install it. After opening Adobe Acobat Reader.cab in Smart Explorer, phone says that downloading of files is completed but stops there (not hang). Anybody have an idea how i can install this? * how I copy the files. First I run Adobe Acrobat Reader for pocket PC installer from my computer. These files were then automatically transfeered to the phone. After this, the phone stops and inform me that there is not enough space to install this. So i cancel the installation, and move these file to my storage card.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 3, 2003 Report Posted May 3, 2003 The Pocket PC version is not compatible with SmartPhone i believe. For the moment to view .pdf's you will have to buy (the very good) Repligo from Handango. If you wait out though the Westek Clearvue pdf viewer will be available soon.

Guest bensy Posted May 7, 2003 Report Posted May 7, 2003 I downloaded the repligo trial for smartphone windows 98 SE version. but when I tried installing it in my desktop, with windows 98 SE build 4.10.2222A, the program said that i need a windows 98SE or newer. But as I said, I already am using Windows 98. (I planning to upgrade my desktop next year). Do you have any idea why? I emailed cerience but got no response.
Guest AlainL Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 LO, I have done the same as bensy, with same result. After that, I extracted all files from .cab and installed them manually on phone using folder and registry get from file ARCEAR~1.000 in .cab (it's a binary file, can be viewed in hexa). I also compared with structure used in windows version of acrobat. When I launch acrord32.exe (from smart explorer), i've got the busy icon then an error message (in french, sorry) : "impossible d'ouvrir ce fichier. le système a retourné l'erreur'accès refusé'" (in english : "Can't open this file. System returned 'access denied'"). Maybe I made a mistake in registry. In windows the language is set in (Default) values, but I can't set a default values on SPV. Can somebody help me ? Or ppc reader is really incompatible with SPV (i think so ... too bad) ?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 Benzy: no idea about your problem i'm afraid, try emailnig again? AlainL: As i already said. It's the PocketPC version, not compatible with SmartPhone unfortunately...
Guest AlainL Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 In your first reply, you said The Pocket PC version is not compatible with SmartPhone i believe. That's why I give it a try ... Too bad, it doesn't work. I'm sure there is few things to make it works. Maybe Adobe will adapt is product.
