Guest studiosonic Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 Found the website for MyTools to find out what it's all about... http://www.micro-cheng.com/products/mytoolsp.html Looks pretty damn good. I don't have my SPV yet, and think there are problems with it's certificate at the moment, but it seems to give you the ability to close down applications, thereby stopping the SPV from getting clogged up. This can be done via either a task list or a cross at the top of the application, just like in software everywhere else! :D It also lets you check the memory of the phone and your SPV card. Also it lets you use a, "Timer for powered on batteries." Not sure what this means exactly - it's not very clear but could it mean that you can set the SPV to come on and off? Interesting how the application is free. How did he get it signed if he's getting nothing from it??? I originally thought it was from Orange. Do you think Orange paid for it all as it added some functions to the phone that were lacking???.....interesting! The guy seems to deal in freeware, but it does say he's looking for contract work. Could Orange given him a contract for it. I see no other way how freeware could be certified.
Guest janagan Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 The damn thing doesnt have a certificate so no INSTALL. I really wanted this app to close the programs cause it can be annoying soemtimes, and the worst thing is if one of the software hangs up u cant receive any calls, from the other side it just rings and rings and then goes to voice mail.:x
Guest Bazz Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 Just cause it's Smartphone compatible doesn't mean it's SPV compatible. This will run on a smartphone which isn't locked by the network, like the SPV has been by Orange. The locking is voluntary (decided by the network), so you can develop apps if you want, but you will lose some of your userbase if you don't certify for each mobile company that implements locking... However saying that currently there are no other smartphones out at the moment....
