HOW TO USE WAP OVER GPRS TO ACCESS WAP SITES?

i am from the philippines, and i recently subscribed to smart network from globe. however, i can't seem to access the free wap sites for wallpapers, tones,etc. that i used to access with my nokia 7210.

whenever i try to access these wap sites through pocket explorer, i normally get a message from my spv saying, "only wap enabled phones may access this page". i really need to find out how to access sites such as www.polyphonicringtonez.com.

smart can't seem to help me, despite the five times i've asked them how to do it. if anyone knows the problem, please email me on how to use the wap of my spv. thanks! and hope to hear from you guys soon.

There is a small app you can try, "WebWapSelect", downloadable from my site.

The problem with SmartPhone is that the Pocket IE request header tells the site its a HTML enabled browser, for which most WAP sites will return an error (not a wap browser), even though the PIE browser is perfectly capable of doing so.

The above app will change the requests headers to that of a t68i i believe, it's a little unreliable at times but worth a try all the same...

i tried it but it still doesn't work. maybe someone knows the wap address of smart network just like the advice someone gave to the guy who got his spv from smart but had his phone unlocked so that he could use his globe sim card. the advice turned out to be very detailed as it indicated the specific details to connect to globe network's wap station...or something like that.

Did you subscribe from SMART or from GLOBE?

(dialup is +639198961000, adjust above in not split up correctly)

In data connections

Internet Connection: Smart GPRS (try automatic if any problems)

WAP connection: Smart WAP (GPRS WAP)

or WAP connection: Smart CSD WAP (GSM WAP)

In Internet Explorer, goto connections and tick 'Automatically detect settings'
