xml skin on emulator

Could someone tell me how to install xml skin into the smartphone emulator provided by microsoft :?:

if you look on your smartphone sdk installation e.g.

C:Windows CE Toolswce300Smartphone 2002emulation

you will see three phone bitmaps and an xml file, backup and replace these with whatever you want.

Ah, slight confusion there. Are you wanting to replace the bitmap and keys that surround the main screen of the emulator i.e. make it look like an SPV instead of a Compal or are you wanting to change the home screen and themes of the Smartphone software running on the emulator itself ?

for the former simply replace the files mentioned in the previous post for the latter you need to create a .cab file with the screens and appropriate xml inside. then copy the cab to the emulator using the file tool and run it.

I downloaded and installed the whole huge monster pack from Microsoft, messed up my system, my registry, my hard disk -only to see that the emulator (the only thing I need) doesn't work for some unknown reason :) Anyway, I deinstalled all that stuff now and upload my skin to the phone each time. It's a hard job -but even better than a 200MB sized Smartphone Emulator (propably the biggest Emulator in the world) on my PC :?
