It's down to compression of the midi, you need

to use (going by memory as I'm just about to leave for work)

midi 0 as they are compatable.

There are settings you can use posted around the site, unless someone

posts them, I'll try and find the settings later ;)

I cant seem to figure out how to get in.

You'll need THIS software and then its an application called PHM Registry Editor in your applications list (it'll put the shortcut in your menu automatically)

i already installed it

but i cant find it anywhere

No worries, the site is here to help people, i should know that!! Will uninstall PHM on my SPV and then reinstall to confirm that it places shortcut in menu.

Where are u installing PHM to? Card or phone?

Is there any chance someone, maybe midnight  , could produce a cab file so it modifies the registry to look on the sd card?

I don't particularly want to mess around with the registry

Had a quick play with desktop version and it didn't install anything, i could see no option to install the PHM registry editor, perhaps i'm using it incorrectly but i presume that you are doing the same as i am so i think you'd be better off with the version that runs on the phone, its easy to use (as long as you follow what people sya to the word, but then this would be the same with the desktop version as well!!)

I linked to it on Midnight's site earlier in this thread.

STEP BY STEP:

1. Download PHM registry editor from Midnight's site (the CAB version)

2. Copy the cab file onto your phone (remember where you copy it to)

3. Use binarys' smart explorer (get it here) to locate and run the newly copied CAB file

4. U'll be prompted as to where u wish to install the software, much as you would have been when u installed smart explorer (phone or storage card)

5. Make your selection and installation will continue and complete

You should now have a PHM registry editor program listed in your menu on your phone

Hope this helps :) :(

i have downloaded, extracted the cab file

(regedit.stngr_arm) to my desktop and copied it to my

storage card where i pasted it in a folder i created.

Using the smart explorer i tried to access the file _setup.xml

but now it didnt install anything instead it gave me a screen full of

programming language.

what should i do?

Guest Brody

Why are u trying to access the file _setup.xml ?? all u need to do is run the cab file u copied across...

Let me know how u get on..

Guest Brody

spotted your problem, u extracted the cab file to your desktop, u shouldn't extract it, just copy the whole CAB file to your phone and your phone'll use it as an installer, hope this helps...

Guest Razor

i thought i was supposed to install it

i'm sorry im lost lol

so wat do i do after i copied the regedit.stngr_arm to my storage

how do i run it

by the way the folder contains 3 files namely:

_setup.xml

oregedit.001

phmreg~1.002

You don't copy that folder, you copy the file that u used to extract those three files to the phone.

U'll notice that the file that u used to extract that "regedit.stngr_arm" folder had the file extension .CAB

CAB files are installer files for the phone so don't extract this CAB file, instead copy the compressed file you downloaded from midnight's site directly to your phone and then you can run it using smart explorer and it will initiate an install

Hope this helps!
