Incoming calls auto-swapped when using handsfree kit

Sorry if this one has been posted before, but I've just found this forum.

My problem is that if I am on a call using the supplied 'handsfree kit' and another call comes in, it automatically swaps to the incoming call after a few seconds.

Unfortunately, unless you actually know you have another call waiting, by looking down at the screen (not a good idea if driving) or hearing the very faint beep, it swaps without you realising it.

This has proved to be both very annoying and potentially embarrassing. On a number of occassions I have found myself in mid-conversation talking to someone totally different. Just imagine discussing a contract with a customer when you suddenly find yourself talking to a competitor.

For those cheating on their partners the consequences don't bear thinking about!

I emailed Orange who suggested I phoned them to report it as a fault - brilliant! I strongly suspect it's a 'feature' or maybe there is a setting I've missed somewhere.

Great phone - lots of bugs, but still a great phone.

Dave

PS is there any reason why a 256Mb SC card shouldn't work? - I'm about to buy one.

This has also happened to me whilst using the Car hands free kit. Is this a fault and if so can it be repaired or is it somesetting I have missed?

Not a fix, but I think if you change the in-call alert volume, you will get some warning that you are swapping calls. Mine by default was set at 1, it can go to 5

To change this setting; go to settings>accessibility>In-call alert volume

PS: Haven't tried it as I rarely get one call, let alone 2 at once! :)
