Cannot access sms/sim updates without rebooting

I have just ported my old Number to my SPV, when the sim update arrived I went to acces it but all I could get was one of my emails that I had kept and not deleted I could not do anything else, if I went back to menu and tried again still no joy. :roll:

In the end I had to switch off the phone and reboot a couple of times to access the sms and because it was a sim update I had to reboot again !!!! :evil: !!!!

Still a good phone reminds me of win95 :D and before, oh those were the day :?
