Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 I've not heard of that app before but Voicedialing is part of the phone already but not implemented when it was finaly released ;) So it may work but without looking at the specs I cannot be sure :?
Guest ClintEastman Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 it's not voice tags it's voice rec, with no training! and there is a smartphone version! ;)
Guest coolcatshaft Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 i downloaded and installed it many months ago from the website after it was mentioned on MoDaCo. the site wasn't very clear, it mentioned a smartphone trial version but i think the only one available for download was a PocketPC Phone edition version, so it installed fine on my SPV but couldnt actually get it to work. Sounds very interesting though!
Guest ClintEastman Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Yeh, the trial one of the site is for PPC. ;)

Guest Will Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 i am currently beta testing this .. works pretty well although you have to rename a few contacts, to make them more voice friendly. other than that, it's ace! Will
Guest madu Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 beta testing?? Is that the full retail version you're testing? Or a trial one?
Guest StevenB Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 I have tried installing this software, but when Voicedial installs on the phone I get a message saying that it cannot install on the Phone or the Storage card.
Guest djkat Posted May 7, 2003 Report Posted May 7, 2003 Thank you so much for all your responses, I really appreciate it. I thought that was for Pocket PC as well, but on fonix website, its clearly said for Pocket PC & Smartphone. Thanks for clearing that up. Take care, Keith
Guest madu Posted May 9, 2003 Report Posted May 9, 2003 Any news on this? Anyone used it so far? I want to buy it, just a bit sceptical ATM.
Guest FrankyG Posted May 9, 2003 Report Posted May 9, 2003 Tried it, not happy with it. Actually, didn't get as far as 'trying' it..as installation was a real problem. Tried to install to my SD, install tells me not enough room (yeah, right!) do you want to continue? Of course I do, so it proceeds to install to phone and leave me with 1k free memory...do you know how slow my phone was after that...AARGHH!! Uninstall wasn't straightforward either, not beaten I though I'd try again, just incase I had accidentally chosen the phone as install location. Nope, same again. I got SO hacked with it, I never attempted to try again so can't comment on it's functionality. Maybe I'll try one more time.... when I'm in patient mood :) FrankYG
