Guest spikex Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 My SPV has decided not to send any of my text messagse nor receive any. When I press Send after writing my message it just saves the message to the Outbox folder. How do I send them??? I also can't seem to receive any messages either. Anyone got any ideas whats up? I've checked the Centre Number and it's fine. Orange don't have a clue. It's not a network problem because I tried the SIM card in another phone and it works fine. It's definately a handset problem. Tried a hard reset but still remain with the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. SpikeX.
Guest yatpeak Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 That's unusual, does it seem like it's trying to send or it's just not doing it altogether? Wyatt
Guest spikex Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 It just goes straight back to the Inbox and dumps the message in the Outbox. Nothing happens at all.. I tried my SIM card in another phone and it appears I was wrong. With the SIM card in another phone I can send and receive messages. So it must be something to do with the SPV. Anyone got any ideas or experiencing the same problems?
Guest HelloDave Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 A few people had this problem after decerting, and I think the solution might have been a hard reset ;) The only other thing I can think of is that the CE database that stores your SMSs might be corrupt, in which case you could try deleting it (but you'll lose all stored messages on the phone). If you want to try it do the following, but be warned that this has (allegedly) lead to a couple of SPVs needing hard resets, so try at your own risk! For what it's worth it worked for me when I wanted to backup my SMSs! - Using ALL-Explorer or ActiveSync, rename IPSMcemail.vol to something else - Restart the phone and it should create a new blank cemail.vol. Try sending an SMS - Delete the old cemail.vol If you want more info try searching for a thread about "backing up text messages", which is where I found this info a while ago. Hope that helps! :)
