Getting SPV, have to unlock, what order do i do things in??

Hi there,

This is my first post in what looks like a great place for information on the SPV :)

I will get my spv on saturday i was wondering what order i have to do things in, i want to unlock it for use on the o2 network

Should i do the uk update first, then unlock it. or the other way round, also once i unlock how do i get the software applications unlocked.

Welcome to the site :)

If you are buying the phone new you will not need to do the update as it should already be on

the phone.

As for decerting (application unlocking) go to the Orange Developers Site for over the air decerting.

while this subject is up, is there any downfalls of decerting? i am quite content with the stuff my phone can do, but obviously decerting would be nice to open up more features. but does it effect the phones stability? i would like to keep the phone nice and 'clean'. is there anything 'bad' about decerting?
