Guest beverage Posted May 7, 2003 Report Posted May 7, 2003 hey, i was wwondering if anyone could help please. sometimes when i put a wav or midi on my SPV and go to sounds and select it i get the tone for alarm 2, like a 'doodledoo' or something. anyone know why this is? cheers, beverage
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 7, 2003 Report Posted May 7, 2003 It's because it's the wrong format, it needs to be midi 0 For more info look at the sticky at the top of this section. http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...=asc&highlight=
Guest derkins Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 that has happened to me, too. run the .wav file using Sound Recorder and then save it as PCM (11.025 kHz, 8 Bit) that should do it.
Guest derkins Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 More details from http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/smartphone...ort/spfaqeu.asp Try re-encoding it with Sound Recorder using a PCM codec. On Windows XP: 1. Open Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder 2. Open the sound file 3. Do File > Save As. 4. In the Save As dialog ensure that the format is one of the PCM encoding formats
Guest beverage Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 cheers for the tips but does anyone know how to encode midis to midi 0 (if thats what i need) coz wavs are a little too big. :) cheers
