Guest pyke Posted May 7, 2003 Report Posted May 7, 2003 dudes, i ordered the ia album from handango.is this the same application that's pre-installed in the tanager or is this a tool to enhance the images?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 7, 2003 Report Posted May 7, 2003 Pretty much the same, assuming its the same verson.
Guest Simon Desser Posted May 7, 2003 Report Posted May 7, 2003 Yep, it's the same. Does anyone remember back in November IA Style saying that it was ALWAYS supposed to be bundled with the SPV :?: They said that they had sent the software to HTC, but that the phones had been shipped without IA Album installed (or something like that) But then, went on to happily charge everyone for it, as the cock up was not theirs

Guest Simon Desser Posted May 7, 2003 Report Posted May 7, 2003 No he's not trying to take you for a ride at all. He wouldn't realise that you already have IA Album. And he's right, with IA Album, there is an option to alter the brightness at the time of taking the picture, which helps a bit. What we really need (in my opinion) is a basic image editor that lets us tweak the picture once it's been taken. Such as, rotate, crop, resize, adjust brightness & contrast etc. etc Unfortunately, video is a waste of time, as it looks more like a few still pictures played in sequence, and this is apparently a limitation of the hardware (not the software)
Guest IA Style Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 There may be some Tanager shipment will come with built-in IA Album (with camera support) bundled in it. A user can always try to find the shortcuts Photos and Camera (in the Programs menu) to verify if IA Album has already been bundled or not. The built-in version of IA Album can save user's time to install it and offer a seamless user experience for photo capture, browsing and viewing. For retail version IA Album for Smartphone purchaser, IA Style will be offering certain free upgrades of IA Album for Smartphone. If everything going smoothly (all about the signing issue), there will be one new version to be released soon. At this moment, the latest version is V1.6. We are developing a registration mechanism to allow existing IA Album purchasers to get the upgrade. As to the attached camera's video performance issue, it is largely a camera/serial bus hardware's limitation. We can't do much to improve it.
Guest dinoalbert Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Hi. For Orange SPV users, just wondering what camera/picture viewer app are you using when you first bought the Canary without the built-in IA Camera/Album?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 When the phone first came out all you could do was to take a picture via InboxNewMMS not the best way :). Then when the updates came we then got Picture Manager, it's not bad, but is very limited. Then there is IA ALbun still not as good as I would like it to be, (I'd like to see a bit better editing) but it's not bad.
Guest NickB&SPV Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Found IA Album useful for viewing picture attachments from E-Mail. Found this to be the only way to open them.

Guest Simon Desser Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 If I were you I would "try" and ask for a refund on the one you bought, as it's identical to the one that came on your phone :) (Unless they'll let you upgrade free of charge when the new version 2 comes out soon?)
