Guest leemrvnt Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 need advise on how to get started on customizing homescreen layout
Guest drblow Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 leemrvnt - You don't really need any tools ata all to create a skin! All you need is notepad (to edit xml) and a graphics package (photoshop etc) to do your images. That's it!! You can start an xml page from scratch if you want ( & if you really know what you are doing!) but it would seem that the most popular method is to take a skin someone else has made, that you like, and just start messing with the xml & images. Even if you do start a skin from scratch - you still only need notepad & photoshop! The SDK is geared towards application development, and is no use for skinning. The best method of testing skins is to simply put them on the phone (unfortunately)!
Guest leemrvnt Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 drblow Thanks, very much, at least now I know where to start,
