USB Modem won't install

I install ActiveSync and it detects the phone. I am able to transfer files, etc. but when i go to ACCESSORIES > MODEM LINK and set the modem to USB and choose MENU ACTIVATE I get an error "cannot be activated coz' ActiveSync might be using ....."

I found in some forum to DISCONNECT ActiveSync but I can't seem to find to do this. There is no disconnect button.

I tried to uninstall ActiveSync and just plug the phone to the USB and Activate USB modem but Windows will not see/detect the phone at all UNLESS I install ActiveSync.

Any workaround would gladly be appreciated. Using Windows XP SP1. Tried the same setup with 2 computers of the same OS > Same problem.

Apparently there's an updated modem driver on the Orange web site, haven't used it myself but that should fix it.
