Guest Flash Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 I'm a great lover of audio books (listening to Stephen Fry reading the Harry Potter books at the mo - very good  ) Anyway, my question. I've basically transfered each CD as a single file, so you can imagine, even when compressed down to about 20Kbps, they're still rather large, and long - about 1hr 10mins. There I am, listening to the book when the phone goes. Windows Media stops. My call ends and, oh bu**ar, I gotta start again. With no forward button, I can't get back to where I left off. Does anyone know if there is a work around to this? Any alternative to Windows Media which has this feature? It wouldn't half save me some time
Guest Vector Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 If your phone is app unlocked you can use PocketMVP . But it only seems to recognize MP3. If your phone isn't unlocked there is a way of being able to fast forward in windows media player but i can't remember what it is. I shall look for it
Guest Flash Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 Thanks Davidrm for your help. I have an unlocked phone, and these are MP3 files, so I'll check out the PocketMVP and see if it works.
Guest Vector Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 Press "3" to go forward in PocketMVP
Guest Flash Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 Errrr... where exactly do I find PocketMVP? Done a search, but have failed...... miserably
Guest Vector Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 Goto http://www.monolithix.org/SPV_software and download the app called Pocket Divx alpha 4
Guest Gorskar Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 The workaround is to create an asx file with place markers in it. Im not entirely sure how to do this. A search of the forum threw up this thread which might be what you are looking for.
Guest Flash Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 Thanks Gorskar. It might need a little bit of working out, but I'll give it a try as well.
