Hi there, I'm a Smartphone owner wannabe. Am waiting for O2 to bring it into Malaysia right now (http://myo2smartphone.com) They aren't saying what it is other than it's not a tanager.

Since I'm a developer and there's this whole issue of security certs, I'm just wondering.... would the decertification process listed for the Orange branded SPVs work for other Canary or Tanager devices??

Thanks!

Depending on the software version it may/may not. There is a workaround. But Orange now allow over-the-air unlock from their website (4 developers) but that apparently works only on orange network...

Are you sure O2 certification-lock it??>

Well, I'm not sure... it's not even released here yet... but I'm just wondering would the steps work....
